Vehicle Cybersecurity Test Engineer • Develop, define, and maintain ECU and system-level security DV processes, procedures, plans and other technical documentation as required. • Develop and agree with stakeholders on success criteria for design verification tests. • Coordinate availability of test resources (breadboards, HIL availability, ECUs, vehicles, software, test equipment) and ensure all necessary resources available to support required test timing. • Set up test environment & perform cybersecurity testing to validate and verify security controls & identify potential gaps related to vehicles, connected devices, and connected networks. • Document test findings & provide comprehensive test reports & analysis from test activities per regulatory requirements and Ford processes. • Employ cybersecurity processes, best practices, techniques, and tools and assure their consistent application within the vehicle and mobility domain. • Support product program/new feature teams, coordinate with teams to provide security test perspective & champion designed-in testability during product development phases. • Work to improve automation of cybersecurity testing wherever possible. • Provide cybersecurity training and consulting to other internal Ford teams. • Perform first-level investigation of reported issues to provide ECU teams and others direction to find detailed root cause of issues.
Skills Required:
• 3-5+ years of experience with test engineering methods and processes/tools (requirement analysis, test plan/test case development, test execution, issue tracking & resolution, traceability, documentation, test-related software tools). • 3+ years software development experience in C, Python, Java or related. • 3+ years experience working with embedded systems • Use of common electronics laboratory equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering). • 3+ years experience using CAN, UDS, Vector/Intrepid hardware & software tools. • 3+ years experience with protocol & log analysis e.g., Wireshark • Critical thinker, enjoys learning, good debug & problem-solving skills. • Self-starter, takes initiative to complete assignments, find & resolve issues, gather information, work with others, & grow team capabilities. • Strong personal ethics, discretion, rigor, interpersonal, and communication skills (to both technical and non-technical audiences) to be able to alert the company about security risks in an effective way. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
Skills Preferred:
• Knowledge of cybersecurity basics, encryption, PKI. • Experience designing or evaluating applications for security. • Experience with engineering process methodologies (e.g.,ASPICE) • Applied networking technologies knowledge – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular. • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure knowledge. • Designing or testing security for large scale ecosystems and infrastructure.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering or related
Education Preferred:
Master's Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software Engineering or related.
