We have been retained to help one of our growing clients add a Quality Engineer to the team. This position will have the responsibility of working with both the hourly and salaried manufacturing groups to assure the Customer’s concerns are addressed and process improvements implemented. Quality Engineers are expected to maintain 8D documentation and provide timely information to our customers as we work to resolve and mitigate their quality concerns.


Responsibilities:

  • Quality System Management: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and systems in compliance with industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
  • Acts as SME \ Lead QE for select customer group in regards to:
  • Level 3 PPAP submissions
  • Corrective action investigation \ resolution using data and statistical studies
  • Reviews \ dispositions customer returns
  • Development of inspection and work instructions
  • Assists production team with processing \ rework methods
  • Coordination and performance of internal process \ product audits
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implement corrective actions, and monitor the effectiveness of improvements.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis of quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Inspection & Testing: Oversee product inspection and testing processes to ensure they meet quality standards. Review and approve inspection reports, test results, and documentation.
  • Supplier Quality: Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components. Conduct supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of quality inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Prepare quality reports and metrics for management review.
  • Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers to understand quality requirements and resolve any quality-related issues.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to production teams on quality standards and best practices.



Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role
  • Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS), statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone), and familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Software: Experience with quality management software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving quality issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
