SCOPE
The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for creativity and building applications using problem-solving and ingenuity to overcome obstacles and provide solutions. The Software Engineer Intern is responsible for contributing to software design and development. They collaborate with other team members in creating secure and reliable software solutions. The team will be investigating emerging technologies in the industry to see how they can benefit the firm, including Generative AI, Machine Learning, Hyper Automation, and Cloud Architecture and Implementation. This Intern position will work with the Custom Applications Team at Houlihan Lokey developing unique solutions to solve business problems. You will be working on a fast-paced project with an expected deliverable/product produced at the end of your internship.
Responsibilities
- Develop applications (coding, programming) using the following technologies:
- Angular (Version 16)
- C# .NET Core
- Entity Framework Core
- SQL
- Python
- Debugging and testing code along with building in-code unit tests using XUnit and Moq
- Documenting and testing new software applications
- Researching, investigating, and fixing a wide range of technical issues
- Collaborating with and mentored by senior leaders from the Custom Applications Team
- Approaching problems and creating solutions
- Proactively learning about new technologies
Required Qualifications
- Experience with C# and SQL is helpful. Experience with Angular is preferred but not required. (Other coding languages will be considered and can be suggested as a basis for the development of our new product if the justification for that approach can be shown.)
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated and results-oriented
- Ability to interact with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Highly developed analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently but also accept guidance and input when offered.
Salary Range
Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:
$20.00-$30.00
