Founded in the 2000s, the firm specializes in the design of MEP systems for K-12 school districts, colleges, universities, commercial, healthcare, and other educational support facilities.

Supervisor

Senior Electrical Team Leader/Electrical Engineer

Purpose

To serve as a member of the firm's electrical design team and to assist the team in the production of high-quality contract documents for the firm’s clients, ensuring that the process fulfills the firm's vision and mission.

Essential Duties and Functions

  1. Serve as a member of the firm's electrical team for the design of electrical systems for client projects as assigned including:
  2. Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation, and delivery of all electrical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for each client project with no supervision.
  3. Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project with no supervision.
  4. Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents as assigned for electrical-related items with no supervision.
  5. Conduct field work and complete field reports on electrical-related items to verify design with no supervision.
  6. Expert knowledge of all required building codes.
  7. Expert knowledge of the firm's design standards and processes.
  8. Excellent knowledge of client design standards.
  9. Proficient in lighting and lighting controls.
  10. Proficient in fire alarm systems.
  11. Proficient in power and power distribution systems, including emergency power.
  12. Excellent knowledge of technology systems.
  13. Ability to design and manage multiple projects from start to finish with no supervision.
  14. Attendance at client events.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  1. B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  2. Successful completion of the State of Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) examination is a plus.
  3. Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas is a plus.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail.
  5. Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.
  6. Ability to work well on a team.
  7. Exceptional written and verbal skills.
  8. Knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Knowledge of building codes.
  10. Minimum 2 years in a MEP consulting environment.
  11. Experience in the design of lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, power and power distribution, technology systems, as well as other standard electrical systems for commercial buildings.
