Position Overview

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service engineering consulting and design firm serving a broad range of the industrial markets. Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team focuses on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in various markets.

Location

This position is based out of Lone Tree, CO. Opportunities for flexible work are available and we offer relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare designs for structures including research, system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation on projects ranging from moderate to large in size and complexity. May be assigned as the Lead on one or more projects.
  2. Apply department and industry standards to oversee the preparation of calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
  3. Mentor and direct the work of entry and mid-level employees for skills development. Reviews their progress and results. Provides direction and coaching, as needed.
  4. Leverage Building Information Modeling (BIM) to create plans, drawings, and details.
  5. Incorporate the requirements of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), professional service agreements, or other contractual requirements ensuring the projects meet or exceed project goals.
  6. Coordinate with internal and external partners including cross-discipline, construction, vendors, fabricator(s), and owners to address structural-related issues or concerns.
  7. Recommend changes for standards or process improvements, as needed.
  8. Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets (including staffing needs) to project management and department management.
  9. Support department managers in setting and achieving performance goals for the department.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in a civil or architectural engineering program from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program. Some masters’ coursework preferred.
  2. Licensed Professional Engineer or in the process of completing your PE.
  3. At least 8 years experience in structural engineering and design in both concrete and steel. At least 3 years working in industrial, manufacturing, water/wastewater or building markets. (Prefer water/wastewater design experience)
  4. Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with other team members and disciplines both verbally and written form.
  5. Functional in utilizing spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations.
  6. Knowledgeable and experience in engineering software: CSi SAP2000 and SAFE, RISA Suite.
  7. Knowledge and experience with BIM software: (Revit preferred), AutoCAD, and Navisworks. 3D modeling experience required.
  8. Must be able to represent Kiewit Industrial Engineering in a professional manner to owners, contractors, vendors, and any other contacts outside Kiewit organization.

Base Compensation: $138,000/yr - $145,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
