Overview
As a Water Resource Engineer in CEC's Pittsburgh, PA Office, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively in an employee-owned company while interacting with clients, contractors, regulators, and local government officials. You will provide services for projects of various complexities with opportunities in stormwater management and compliance; watershed management; floodplain management; National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) permitting and map revisions; flood mitigation analyses, permitting and design; stream restoration & mitigation; dam safety engineering; waterways development; bridge & culvert designs; water resources & construction permitting; and Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) services.
Your involvement throughout the lifespan of projects will be from conception through construction as you contribute to the analysis, design, development of plans & specifications, permitting applications, bidding, and construction engineering. You will work collaboratively with our diverse team of talented, passionate, and multidisciplinary experts as we provide unique solutions to meet our clients' needs with innovation and a vision for growth. Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design tasks on complex water resource projects;
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support design and assessment of surface water systems and infrastructure;
- Develop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models and perform simulations;
- Develop detailed plans, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, and reports
- Prepare permit applications;
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews on projects;
- Provide mentoring, training, and oversight for staff;
- Manage water resource related projects and tasks; and
- Pursue client management and business development opportunities.
- B.S. degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field);
- P.E. licensed in PA or ability to obtain this license;
- 6+ years of experience with water resources projects in one or more of the following areas: Geotechnical, hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, dam design, or structural waterfront engineering;
- Experience with hydrologic and open-channel hydraulics processes and expertise in modeling these processes; and
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM HydroCAD, SLID, or other water resources software.
