TekPro is seeking a Lead Civil/Transportation Engineer to join a collaborative and experienced team focused on designing and managing transportation infrastructure projects. We are searching for a highly motivated individual with a proven background in roadway and highway design, capable of providing technical leadership while managing multiple project teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of transportation projects
- Execute all aspects of roadway engineering using advanced engineering concepts
- Supervise and coordinate the work of engineers, technicians, and subconsultants
- Develop and enforce project quality control and quality assurance (QC/QA) plans
- Provide leadership and foster technical and management collaboration
- Oversee project scope, schedules, budgets, and progress reports
- Track deliverables, client reviews, technical input, and comment resolution
- Manage workload across multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budget adherence
- Compile project scope and fees, and support business development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (mandatory)
- 10+ years of transportation design experience
- Professional Engineer License in Illinois (mandatory), with reciprocity options
- Design experience with the Illinois Department of Transportation (preferred)
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in CAD/Design software (MicroStation SS10, GeoPak, ORD) and Microsoft Office Suite
