Numerical Control Programmer 4 (Contract)

Company has an exciting opportunity for a Numerical Control Programmer Contractor to join our Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Team located in Tukwila, WA. The selected candidate for this role will need to have good relationship building and excellent communication skills. This individual will join a BT&E Aero Noise & Propulsion team that provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical experience related to all airplane models and additive manufactured parts. This Senior-Level Numerical Control Programmer will plan, create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry, and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools, and assemblies. Other duties include planning and guiding the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software, and equipment. Also, establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans, creates, verifies, and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry, and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools, and assemblies for departmental work.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, strong attention to details, and complete understanding of every aspect of the part.
  • Establishes technical requirements to determine producibility and the manufacturing process.
  • Provides numerical control, machining, and programming technical experience.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering as necessary to ensure a quality NC program prior to part fabrication.
  • Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal direction.

  • Vericut Simulation
  • 5-Axis CNC
  • Post Processing
  • Complex 3D parts with contoured surfaces

Preferred:

  • 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in CAD/CAM software (preferred CATIA, Vericut simulation)
