  • Position Summary
    • The programmer/analyst is responsible for implementing and maintaining interfaces between different vendors' applications, for producing custom reports and custom databases from its existing financial, clinical, and patient management databases, and for planning and implementing any data conversions that may be needed. He/she analyzes data and information needs and develops program or report specifications, data models, data maps, and process models to document the structure and flow of data within and between both existing and proposed applications. The programmer/analyst uses the organization's various database management and programming tools to code, test, and install both modifications to existing data and new databases, as needed. In addition the programmer/analyst will work with members of the IS Staff, vendors and customers to analyze, define, specify and implement any requirements for systems integration and will perform the duties of the Technical Project Lead for assigned projects.

  • Essential Functions
    • Analyzes, translates and transforms requests for information into useable (i.e., complete, accurate, relevant, and timely) reports and/or databases using vendors' preferred query languages and other appropriate system and database manipulation tools.
    • Develops detailed specifications based on the analysis of existing applications, interfaces or reports and end-user interviews.
    • Implements and maintains application-to-application interfaces; it is expected that such interfaces will be implemented using the GPRMC interface engine.
    • Works to ensure that transactions flowing through the interface engine produce the expected results in the receiving system(s).
    • Programming code is fully documented in a timely and complete manner.
    • Acts a Technical Project Manager for specific projects as assigned by the Director of Application Services.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Strictly abides by Confidentiality Guidelines and respects patient privacy.
    • Communicates effectively and openly.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
