The Role:
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for data and analytics to join our Data Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development with expertise in Python, SQL, Tableau, and Snowflake. This role involves the development and maintenance of analytics software that helps us accurately track, analyze, audit and report on royalties, forecasts, returns, etc.
What you will do:
- Contribute to development of proprietary HITS analytical software.
- Develop and maintain codebase in collaboration with our data, analytics and investments professionals.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python and other languages.
- Utilize SQL for database management and to perform complex queries for data ingestion and analysis.
- Create dynamic and insightful visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.
- Leverage Snowflake's data warehousing capabilities for scalable and efficient data storage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Perform data validation and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of calculations.
- Keep abreast of the latest technology trends and best practices in analytics software development.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python programming and an understanding of its ecosystems and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with database management.
- Experience with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
- Experience with ETL processes and data ingestion and integration.
- Knowledge of financial systems and royalty payment structures.
- Prior experience in a software development role focusing on analytics.
- Experience in developing web applications using the Flask framework.
- Experience in handling JSON, XML, and other data formats commonly used in APIs.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or similar cloud data warehousing solutions.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience integrating code into workflows in Apache Airflow or similar applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve coding and API-related issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- General interest in the entertainment, sports, and media landscape.
