Job Title: Automation EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking an Automation Technician to join our maintenance department on the 3rd shift. This is a long-term contract position expected to last until December 2026, as we work to keep our lines running and facilitate the shutdown of our Crestline location.ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical troubleshooting in the assigned manufacturing area, including programming and troubleshooting PLCs, Servos, and robotics to eliminate downtime.Manage machine vision systems.Partner with team members to complete continuous improvement activities utilizing Six Sigma methodologies.Assist with HMI troubleshooting, upgrading, and installing.Perform project work, including robot and PLC upgrades and equipment upgrades.Other duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsManufacturing maintenanceElectrical troubleshootingMechanical maintenanceControl circuitAutomationProgrammingControls engineeringFanucPneumaticsAutomation systemsAdditional Skills & QualificationsApplicable Degree and/or Associates degree with 8+ years of demonstrated experience dealing with highly complex automation equipment.Strong technical knowledge to program controls, preferably Allen-Bradley and/or Modicon controls.Experience using Six Sigma to improve processes preferred.Knowledge of glass cutting, edging, and bending for the automotive industry would be beneficial.Ability to communicate effectively with operators, peers, management, and vendors.Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve mechanical problems, plan, organize, and share information.Ability to work independently and manage projects to established timelines.Why Work Here?We offer highly competitive pay for the duration of the contract. The work environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility employs 390 people, with the maintenance department consisting of 20 technicians.
