Primary Talent Partners has a new Engineering Technologist opening with our large energy client in Raleigh, NC. This will be 3-year, FT contract with high potential for extension and/or conversion. 

Pay Range: $31 - $36/hr based on experience; W2 Contract, no PTO, no Benefits.

NO C2C OR CANDIDATES REQUIRING SPONSORSHIP ARE BEING CONSIDERED AT THIS TIME.

Work Schedule: Full time, hybrid, 2-3 days/week in office. Potential for OT but not frequent.

Responsibilities:

Models the electric Transmission grid in a General Electric Energy Management System (EMS) to ensure the EMS accurately matches the field equipment.

Qualifications:

 Previous experience with modeling/displays in an Electric Transmission environment (preferably using the General Electric Grid EMS system e-terrasource application).

Experience in the electric utility industry - Understanding of Transmission or Distribution environments & components.

Previous experience with CAD modeling of electric Transmission or Distribution equipment.

B.S. in engineering technology and 2-4 years’ experience OR associate degree in engineering technology with 4-8 years of experience OR 7-14 years equivalent experience without degree.

Job Summary:

Serves on 24x7 callout rotation after an orientation period.

Provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision.

Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence.

Provides technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.

Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities.

Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.

Conducts engineering and related studies.

Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance.

Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.

Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.

Maintains accurate records and files.

Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.

Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Understanding of basic principles of project management.
