What does a successful Senior Software Engineer do?

The Senior Software Engineer will be a key contributor within the Development team working to build and maintain framework components across our suite of applications and services. The Senior Software Engineer will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. This role is located in Jacksonville, FL and will be in-office the majority of days.

What you will do:

1. Developing Go application framework components that are scalable and maintainable across our enterprise
2. Translating software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software
3. Work on interesting and difficult problems
4. Develop services that interact with RDBMS and Messaging systems
5. Develop quality unit/integration tests to ensure a quality product
6. Playing a key role in application architecture and design of the system

What you will need to have:

1. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
2. 7-11 years of hands-on software development experience
3. 2+ Years of Go software development experience
4. Working knowledge of concurrency in Go
5. Hands on experience with Go CPU and memory profiling tools
6. Understanding of Go's dependency management framework
7. Hands on experience with common go packages and frameworks such as Gorilla-Mux or Chi, Gorm, Go Kit, gRPC
8. Strong understanding of building RESTful API fundamentals
9. Experience designing and building Microservices
10. Experience building go applications backed by a relational database such as Postgres or MySQL
11. 1-2 years experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
12. Experience software version control (Preferably Git) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)
13. Experience with Event Driven Architectures & Messaging brokers like Rabbitmq or Kafka
