Job Purpose:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work under the direction of the Manager to ensure that the plant mechanical equipment provides accurate and quick real-time measurement data to the control systems. This will enable effective responses to abnormalities and control operating parameters of the plant, aligning with the Company's strategies and operational priorities (profit, safety, reliability, and environmental requirements). A thorough understanding of MWSPC's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures is essential.

Job Accountabilities:

  1. Support in developing mechanical Integrity/Quality assurance, reliability, and OSM and PPM programs.
  2. Review and provide input to mechanical engineering design packages for expense and capital projects.
  3. Review comments on project packages related to mechanical during design basis scoping, project proposal, and detailed design phases.
  4. Review new rotating equipment proposals, equipment specifications, documents, and drawings.
  5. Review design modifications for all types of mechanical equipment including rotating vessels, drums, boilers, and turbines.
  6. Review and propose recommendations for mechanical equipment modifications.
  7. Attend disasters and emergency situations; provide engineering advice and guidance to operations related to mechanical equipment.
  8. Provide, review, and analyze specific key performance indicators on a regular basis to identify and recommend improvements.
  9. Participate in HSE activities (such as plant walkthroughs, emergency drills, and related facility audits) as required.
  10. Review and comment on updated applicable mechanical standards and manuals with agreed-upon changes.
  11. Review and resolve recommended alternatives for obsolete mechanical equipment replacement.
  12. Review and agree on defined test procedures and objectives to be carried out on major mechanical equipment.
  13. Assist operations and maintenance in plant commissioning and startup activities related to mechanical engineering.
  14. Review the performance monitoring program for rotating equipment (including vibration analysis, thermographic surveys, and oil sampling).
  15. Support operation and maintenance during planned and emergency shutdowns.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of experience.
