StaffBright currently has an excellent opportunity for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer in the Metro Detroit area. This position is with a growing supplier that’s expanding both its operations and headcount. We’re looking for candidates with over 3 years of automotive experience, particularly those with a strong background in pre-production planning. The ideal candidate will have exposure to tire and wheel components within an automotive environment.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Process Development: Create, document, develop, and implement assembly processes and procedures for the company’s products.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in projects from initial sourcing through SOP +90 days for corporate employees, or through EOP for plant employees.
  • Planning & Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and implement assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Budget Management: Develop and track capital investment budgets for assigned projects.
  • Capital Equipment: Track, manage, and communicate the timing plan and open issues related to capital equipment to the program team.
  • RFQs & Specifications: Develop all RFQs and equipment specifications for capital, tooling requirements, and contract services prior to SOP.
  • Vendor Interface: Serve as the main interface with machining, automation, and capital equipment vendors.
  • Production Process Development: Oversee the development and final approval of production processes, including work cell layout, ergonomic workstation design, and line balancing.
  • Documentation: Develop prototype and production process documentation through SOP +90 days, including Process Flow, Cycle Time Analysis, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
  • Plant Layout & PFEP: Design initial plant floor layouts and PFEP, including material flow and storage.
  • Material Handling: Procure and install line-side material presentation and handling devices.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Preferred)
  • Experience with tire and wheel components (preferably chassis or brake components)
  • Strong working knowledge of Manual and Automated Assembly Systems and Technologies, including both mechanical and control systems
