Position Overview:
BHS Corrugated is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer with expertise in Allen Bradley, Siemens S7 PLCs, etc. This role will involve designing, developing, and optimizing electrical control systems for our state-of-the-art corrugated machinery. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of our production equipment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement electrical control systems for corrugated machinery, with a focus on Siemens S7 PLC programming and HMI development.
  2. Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.
  3. Program, configure, and troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLC systems to ensure proper machine operation.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, and production) to integrate control systems with machinery.
  5. Conduct testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure optimal machine performance.
  6. Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality protocols.
  7. Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and startup phases of new equipment.
  8. Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, programs, and processes.
  9. Train maintenance and operations teams on electrical controls and PLC systems.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical controls engineering, particularly in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong expertise in Siemens S7 PLC programming and HMI development (required).
  4. Solid understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and automation technologies.
  5. Proficiency with CAD software for electrical schematic and panel design.
  6. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
  7. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to complex electrical systems.
  8. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  9. Knowledge of relevant safety standards and industry regulations.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with SCADA systems and remote control/monitoring technologies.
  2. Familiarity with servo motors, motion control systems, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  3. Hands-on experience with electrical panel building and wiring.

Travel Expectations:

  1. First Year: 30% travel to learn equipment and systems.
  2. Second Year and Beyond: 10% travel to support customer visits and resolve complex issues.
