About the Position
As a Senior UX Designer at Flywheel, you'll join our busy and growing UX team to support our best-in-class biomedical research platform. You'll help define end-to-end user experiences, from researching the problem space to shaping the innovative UI design that brings the product to life. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to tackle complex, data-heavy customer workflows and craft them into intuitive, accessible interfaces for our customers around the globe.

Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process, from research and ideation to prototyping and user testing on multiple teams across Flywheel.
- Collaborate with the UX Team to ensure designs are on system and there is cohesion in design and patterns across designers.
- Take the initiative to communicate and follow-up with cross-functional team members.
- Be available to mentor junior designers, providing feedback and fostering a collaborative design culture.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand technical constraints and business requirements.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, engaging design solutions that resonate with users.
- Be comfortable living in ambiguity and needing to take initiative to get your work completed.
- Conduct user research to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
- Design and execute usability tests to validate design decisions and iterate based on feedback.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that effectively communicate design ideas and functionality.
- Ensure that designs are not only using the design system, but also align with technical feasibility and performance standards.
- Tackle ambiguous problems with a solution-oriented mindset, leveraging data and user insights to guide design decisions.
- Continuously iterate on designs based on feedback and evolving project requirements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across products.
- Advocate for best practices in design, usability, and accessibility.
What would make you a great fit
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design solutions, especially in technically complex or ambiguous projects.
- Proficiency in understanding and translating technical requirements into user-friendly designs. Experience working closely with engineering teams.
- Expertise in Figma and a solid grasp of UX/UI principles, design systems, and user-centric design. Take the initiative when needed to learn and educate yourself and the design team when unknowns or new learning opportunities arise.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and tackle complex problems with innovative design solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to diverse audiences.
- Strong team player with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- An interest in med tech, data, and simplifying technical experiences.
