World Wide Customer Service (WWCS) is looking for a talented and self-motivated developer to join their Device, Digital, and Alexa Support (D2AS) team. D2AS designs and engineers devices that enhance customer experiences, such as the Echo smart speakers, Kindle e-readers, Fire tablets, and TV streaming devices. Our devices are designed with customers in mind, offering convenient features, seamless integration, and a commitment to continuous improvement through regular innovative customer service experiences. This role will be part of the D2AS Search and Discovery team.

As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing Gen-AI influenced cutting-edge software for supporting customer engagement experiences on Alexa-enabled devices, mobile clients, and Amazon Help Gateway. Your contributions will directly impact the customer experience.

  2. Solve complex problems with elegant and high-quality production-ready code.
  3. Influencing solutions with Generative AI applications.
  4. Collaborate with the engineering team to define and implement best practices.
  5. Advocate for our customers, ensuring their needs are at the forefront of every decision.
  6. Mentor and guide other team members, sharing your technical expertise.

About the team

The Search and Discovery team is a part of the D2AS vertical within WWCS. It is a horizontal services team serving various partner verticals within the organization (e.g., Amazon Stores, Amazon Business, Shipping and Delivery). We are committed to a transformational journey to build the next generation Gen-AI Customer Assistance experiences for our global customers and a world-class community of Amazon Technical Care Associates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  2. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  3. Experience building Generative AI or Large Language models (LLM).
  4. A deep understanding of AWS technologies and their practical applications.
  5. Excels in clear and effective communication, both verbal and written, fostering strong working relationships within and across teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
