Title: Computer Vision Engineer IV

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 12 months


Research Engineer (CW), Computer Vision

Developing wearable sensing technologies that will define the future of AI experiences. We are looking for a creative, skilled, and motivated Research Engineer to join our team in advancing the state-of-the-art of computer vision and multi-modal sensing with wearables, including action and gesture recognition, object detection and tracking. You will work with research scientists, software engineers and hardware engineers to build and optimize wearable sensing systems in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on CV/ML engineer with deep CV domain expertise, attention to detail, and a track record in building user-facing, real-time, interactive applications.


Must Have:

  • Hands on experience Computer vision practitioner
  • Hands on experience with Python
  • Experience transferring technology from research in Computer Vision, Machine Perception or Machine Learning into a shipping product

Nice to have

  • Attention to detail
  • Working with actual cameras and actual hardware is plus
  • Refer to preferred qualification

Years of Experience:

  • 5-7 Years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Train CV/ML models for wearable AI experiences, including gesture recognition, object detection, scene understanding
  • Measure and report performance of our CV/ML models under real-world conditions
  • Improve our CV/ML models through failure analyses and hyper-parameter optimization
  • Collaborate across an interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers to build an end-to-end wearable CV system (sensor hardware, data collections, training, evaluation, real-time inference)

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in researching and developing Computer Vision algorithms and systems in academia or industrial setting
  • 3+ years of experience writing software (Python and C/C++) and executing Machine Learning experiments
  • 3+ years of experience working with Deep Learning
  • Experience working and communicating in a cross-functional, diverse team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transferring technology from research in Computer Vision, Machine Perception or Machine Learning into a shipping product
  • Experience with Human Computer Interaction and interactive applications of Computer Vision and Machine Learning
  • Experience with low-level image and signal processing
  • Experience with joint hardware-software development and rapid prototyping of camera and sensors hardware


Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Very similar to ML Engineer, who has worked with computer vision engineer, who has worked with images, vision.
