About the Role:

jaris is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer that will participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging. The Senior Backend Engineer will be passionate about staying up to date on emerging technologies and applying those best practices to jaris' technology. The position is onsite, based out of our Burlingame, CA office.

Responsibilities:

• Write clean code to develop functional web applications in both Java and Python as appropriate.
• Develop APIs to modern RESTful specifications.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Gather and address technical and design requirements.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
• 5+ years work experience as a Back-end developer.
• Experience in financial technologies.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment).
• Hands on experience with programming languages like:
• Java
• Spring Framework
• REST Framework
• SQL
• Familiarity with front-end languages and technologies.
• Excellent analytical and time management skills.
• Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
• Must be willing to work onsite, 2-3 days per week.

Applicants located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the expected annual base compensation range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 USD . Final offers may vary within the range provided based on prior experience, expertise, skills and other factors.
