Network Design Engineer

We are looking for a Network Design Engineer who has an interest in technology and looking for a challenge. You should have a strong analytical mindset around today’s technology and the ability to understand Cisco and Meraki networks. You will perform an integral role in the planning of the school’s network technology refresh program for a large K-12 client. Primary responsibility, as part of a Survey and Design team, is to review, interpret, and create preliminary designs for our K-12 schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Reviewing and understanding site survey documents and existing as-built for wired and wireless networks.
2. Ability to comprehend and adhere to Program’s technical standards.
3. Ability to navigate Excel to interpret survey documents and produce deliverables.
4. Completing all program-defined deliverables in a timely manner.
5. Ability to follow standard procedures to generate network designs and other related documents for configuration and integration.
6. Ability to work within a team environment or independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Strong attention to detail.
2. Proficient in Excel, including creation of macros, VBA, advanced functions, and pivot tables.
3. Understanding of VLANs and Network infrastructure.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Understanding of Networking technologies.
6. Cisco Infrastructure experience/knowledge.

PREFERRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

1. Python, coding experience a plus.
2. Use of Python for network automation.
3. Excel Wings.
4. Netmiko.
5. Selenium, web scraping.
6. Knowledge and creation of databases.
7. Database development.
8. Front end development.
9. Mobile app development.
