Northwest Partners is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer with a solid track record in establishing, rolling out, and fortifying cloud infrastructure within GCP & Azure environments. The candidate will support one of our premier fintech clients and will join a dynamic team that's building a new product. This is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity.

What YOU will do as a successful DevOps Engineer

Your role is central to developing a cloud architecture that is not just resilient and streamlined but also intrinsically secure. Your proficiency will be vital in embodying defined principles via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and pioneering automated solutions to bolster security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Construct and sustain secure cloud frameworks on GCP and Azure, applying industry standards for security and efficiency.
  2. Embed "secure by design" and "shift left" principles within IaC to strengthen security.
  3. Utilize application security instruments like SAST, DAST, and SCA to detect and resolve security vulnerabilities, keeping abreast with prevailing risks and defensive strategies.
  4. Develop and manage container and Kubernetes environments, aligning with container security practices.
  5. Establish robust cloud networking and security mechanisms, including SSL management, API gateways, WAFs, and IPS, to safeguard against cyber threats.
  6. Set up secure IAM strategies and policies, maintaining compliance with cloud security regulations and organizational needs.
  7. Drive automation and process enhancement by devising innovative technical solutions to streamline workflows and security measures.
  8. Operate both autonomously and collaboratively with diverse teams, offering mentorship to peers to uplift overall team expertise.
  9. Provide on-call support, including potential weekend and holiday coverage, to handle critical incidents and uphold security standards.

Minimum Qualifications For Consideration

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in DevOps or DevSecOps within cloud environments.
  3. Expertise in YAML Pipelines, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps, or related technologies.
  4. System administration background in Linux and Windows environments is highly beneficial.
  5. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, adept at explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  6. A problem-solving orientation, using data to guide decisions and enhance products.
