Electronics Technician

(3-6 month Temporary Assignment; Flexible Hours)

Summary of the role:

Lencore is seeking an Electronics Technician to troubleshoot and repair faulty PC boards. The right candidate for this role will have thorough knowledge of electronic systems, soldering/de-soldering techniques for through-hole and surface mount components to carry out the necessary tasks.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuit boards with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design.
• Expertise in the use of oscilloscope, function generator, DMM, and general lab equipment.
• Expertise with soldering, de-soldering, and re-work of through hole and surface mount components down to 0402 size using a microscope as necessary.
• Working knowledge of complex digital and analog circuits including op-amps, DC/DC power supplies, audio amplifiers, etc.
• Working knowledge of I2C and SPI protocol a plus but not required.
• Capable of reading electronic schematics.
• Proficient with Windows based software.
• Detail oriented and well organized a must.

Education and Experience:

• AAS in Electrical Engineering and working toward a bachelor's degree minimum.
• 2 years minimum working with lab equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service electronic equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring.
• Ability to use a microscope.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to use small hand tools such as tweezers.
