Title:RF/Electromagnetic Spectrum EngineerBelong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!KBR is seeking an RF/Electromagnetic Spectrum Engineer in Dahlgren, VA, to support NSCWDD’s B (Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems) Department, Codes B40 and B60, and provide sensor systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) radar systems. Systems supported across B40 and B60 include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS0, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and other sensor systems. Duties may be conducted in government or contractor office or laboratory environments, as well as fieldwork in direct support of USN / USMC organizations.RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the development and execution of systems engineering plans from requirements identification through design verification. Plan and execute engineering strategies in accordance with approved project acquisition strategies and plans:Perform requested aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate aspects of architecture design, interoperability, specification analysis and development, solutions implementation, and systems sustainment of supported projects.Develop test and evaluation documentation, including laboratory testing plans, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents, and laboratory testing of SW/MW test articles developed by the product design agent. Research and develop systems/subsystem specification documents, including compliance, completeness, and consistency of component and interface requirements with current and evolving system requirements, information architectures, and systems.Support signal processing activities, including waveform, clutter management, and electronic protection development; designing electronic compatibility into systems; and supporting data collection and analysis to determine the effectiveness of signal processing systems. Perform and document Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA) for DoD acquisition programs at various stages of development. Navigate multiple spectrum and frequency allocation databases to find information on systems of interest and apply this information to various platforms.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSClearance: US DoD Secret Security Clearance.Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related STEM degree from an accredited US institution.Experience: 3+ years of experience which includes...Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications, and perform system integration.Testing, modeling, or evaluating Spectrum Dependent Systems, RF System Capabilities Analysis, Systems Integration, Spectrum Policy, General RF and electronic technology experience, EMI, EMC, RF Engineering, or Spectrum Management. Demonstrated experience in complex radar system software requirement definition and allocation. Experience in the application of EMI, EMC criteria, or other engineering criteria for operational spectrum coordination and compatibility analyses.Experience in the operation and evaluation of communications, combat systems, electronic warfare systems, navigation aids, and other spectrum-dependent systems, with the ability to conduct analytical evaluation of systems’ RF compatibility and develop frequency plans for operational use.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTechnical Skills: Equipment Spectrum Certification and related National Spectrum Policies. RF analysis and report development. Understanding current DoD spectrum-related systems and evaluating compliance with national spectrum standards. EL-CID, EL-CID Online. HNSWDO. GEMSIS. Spectrum SXXIExperience in developing spectrum certification following the NTIA Manual of Regulations.
