Data Engineering Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Data Engineering lead for our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data warehousing, and team management. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and quality of our data while leading a team of data engineers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership:
   • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
   • Set clear goals and performance expectations for team members.
   • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
2. Data Infrastructure:
   • Architect, design, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
   • Ensure data availability, reliability, and security.
   • Evaluate and implement data engineering technologies and tools.
3. ETL Development:
   • Oversee the development of ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data platforms.
   • Monitor and optimize ETL workflows for efficiency and performance.
4. Data Quality And Governance:
   • Implement data quality standards and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
   • Establish and enforce data security and compliance policies.
5. Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
6. Project Management:
   • Manage data engineering projects, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget.
   • Prioritize and execute initiatives that align with business objectives.
7. Documentation:
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, architectures, and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant experience of a minimum of 6 years in data engineering, including data warehousing, ETL development, and data modeling.
• Strong proficiency in data engineering technologies, such as SQL, Python, and data integration tools.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, Azure, PowerBI).
• Prior experience in team management and leadership roles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications in data engineering or related fields.
• Knowledge of Data Science and AI Modelling.
