Position Overview:

Indev is seeking a Data Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join our team in designing, implementing, and optimizing data architectures and pipelines. You will work closely with our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client, particularly the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), to build and manage data infrastructure that supports AI, machine learning, and automation initiatives aimed at enhancing operations, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.

Indev is seeking candidates with a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and business experience, especially those who have worked in DHS environments and hold an active EOD/DHS clearance.

This role will involve supporting a wide range of project activities across business and technical environments.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and architectures that support data-driven decision-making across AI and ML initiatives

  • Design and build scalable and reliable data architectures that support AI/ML models and advanced analytics
  • Ensure data security and compliance with federal regulations, including managing sensitive and classified data
  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines to ensure continuous data flow and resolve any data-related issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate new data sources and optimize data management practices
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and big data processing
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the mission.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline from an accredited college, university, or academic institution in the United States.
  • Active DHS/EOD clearance (TSA preferred)

  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, or SQL) for data manipulation and processing
  • Experience with databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Microsoft Azure) for data management and storage
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and federal data privacy regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex automation concepts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and capability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality solutions.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or Airflow
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) and their integration into data pipelines
  • Experience working in environments requiring DHS Suitability Clearance is highly preferred.

Clearance:
