Job Title: Full-Stack Developer


Program Overview

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. A key component of that coordination involves the collaborative use of aviation tools and data. This position will support that critical and exciting realm.

OAS is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join our Team in supporting our FAA clients. Our team provides continuous software support (engineering, data analysis, etc.), including the identification and implementation of emerging technologies that could improve the operational effectiveness of FAA applications in a range of programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications and systems that support the mission-oriented programs for the Federal Aviation Administration. You will work as part of a dynamic team to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of FAA's digital infrastructure. Your work will play a crucial role in enhancing the safety and efficiency of the national airspace.

Position Functions & Skills

  1. Design, develop, test, and deploy web and mobile applications.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address FAA's software needs.
  3. Maintain and optimize existing software systems.
  4. Ensure compliance with FAA security and regulatory standards.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues as they arise.
  6. Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Required Education, Skills & Capabilities

  1. Bachelor's degree in IT, Web Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or science fields of study
  2. 8+ years of relevant experience (6+ years of relevant experience w/master's degree)
  3. Demonstrated experience with large databases (e.g., Oracle and/or Redis, SQL)
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in front-end and back-end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Python, Java, .NET.
  5. Experience with database design, implementation and optimization
  6. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
  7. Demonstrated ability to leverage best practices and innovative solutions
  8. Demonstrated experience working with small teams and as a self-starter
  9. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  10. Agile/Scrum development methodologies experience
  11. Excellent verbal and written communications
  12. Excellent collaboration skills.

Preferred Education, Skills & Capabilities

  1. Active security clearance
  2. Government agency and/or FAA experience
  3. Project management experience, PMP, or leadership experience
  4. Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer) are a plus.
