We are looking for a Senior Ruby Engineer to join a vibrant team of experienced engineers at a leading ebook and audiobook subscription service.
As a Senior Ruby Engineer , you’ll work on critical payments and authentication systems, ensuring secure and seamless transactions for millions of users. Contribute to the evolution of our architecture, enhance security measures, and drive innovation in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
This remote position is a perfect opportunity to make a significant impact on a popular platform while working with Ruby on Rails, React, and high-load payment systems.
Must-Have for the position:
Will be a strong plus:
- Experience with CIAM, SSO, SAML, MFA, and Federation concepts;
- Experience working with payment systems like Braintree, Adyen, or Stripe;
- Experience with high-load systems;
- Ability to work with overlap with the Pacific Time zone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance the payments system to facilitate seamless routing of transactions among various processors;
- Advance front-end technology to support a unified interface and add more processors;
- Elevate identity-related functionalities to reinforce user authentication, authorization, and verification processes;
- Strengthen fraud detection capabilities using advanced algorithms and technology;
- Participate in the transition from a monolithic architecture to a more agile and scalable Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

- Work schedule: Flexible, with Pacific timezone overlap and on-call rotations (1-2 weeks/month), in touch 24/7 if needed;
