Control Engineer

On-site - Greensboro, NC (Some Travel)

Base: 100-120K


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate proficiency with PLCs, operator interfaces, and variable frequency drives. Possess comprehensive knowledge of their functionality and communication in controlling manufacturing processes. Ability to program and configure these devices is essential.
  • Exhibit in-depth understanding of field sensors (flow, temperature, pressure, and level devices), including capability to provide field service and support.
  • Generate customer quotes and develop detailed bills of materials for quoting or construction purposes.
  • Apply working knowledge of sanitary and industrial processes (e.g., CIP, HTST, DI water) to design work.
  • Engage in M. G. Newell's field service program. Travel to customer sites for system start-up, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting as needed. Maintain accurate documentation and train other M.G. Newell technicians when required.
  • Provide hands-on field installation and start-up support for assigned projects. Oversee control panel fabrication in the shop as necessary.
  • Conduct customer training on installed equipment and create supporting documentation.
  • Project a positive, professional image to internal and external customers. Identify and communicate potential solutions to customer issues within M. G. Newell. Promote company products and services proactively.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering discipline preferred)
  • ISA-88 batch programming experience highly desired
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI coding required (Allen Bradley essential, Inductive Ignition or Siemens advantageous)
  • Experience with SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Ignition, iFix, etc.) highly valued
  • Willingness to travel approximately 35% of the time
  • Demonstrated success in Project Management considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment
  • High energy, strong work ethic, and ability to lead by example
  • Capacity to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
