A Day in the Life
- Support Neuromodulation Service and Repair Depot at Medtronic Rice Creek Central.
- Implement or sustain Service process for Neuromodulation external instruments.
- Provide equipment support for electro-mechanical test systems.
- Conduct IQ, EQ, Test Method Validation, and equipment lifecycle planning.
- Identify and Implement LEAN improvements in the Depot.
- Establish and report Depot metrics. Examples may include service volume, turnaround time, and inventory stock or consumption.
- Preparation and maintenance of quality system records and documentation.
- Creation and maintenance of service level manuals and service center employee training documentation.
- Respond to engineering change requests. Provide impact assessments and plans.
- Ensure compliance; NC, CAPA. Support audit.
- This is an on-site role.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
- Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
- Designs sequence of operations or specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
- May incorporate inspection and test requirements into WIP plan.
- Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality, optimize line uptime, and ensure business continuity.
- Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Skills, Experience, and Behaviors
- Demonstrated hands-on problem solving and analytical skills.
- Data query and summary to identity and narrate through complex issues.
- Demonstrated LEAN or Six-Sigma fundamentals in a manufacturing or similar setting.
- Experience with electro-mechanical test system troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation.
- Cross functional interaction in Service and the Neuromodulation OU. Interface with Technician, Supervisor, Engineering, and Management roles.
- Utilizes project management skills to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan, direct, and actively participate on concurrent projects.
- Previous medical device experience.
Nice to Have
- Enovia or Windchill.
- LEAN or Six-Sigma certification.
- Test or data scripting; Python, Excel, PowerBI, SCPI.
- Complaint Analysis.
- Electrical Repair or Failure Analysis.
TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM
An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies. Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Required Knowledge and Experience
Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $97,600.00 - $146,400.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
