Waterfront Engineer
Do you have a passion for the water? Ever consider focusing your work around it? A waterfront engineering position is now available at AMI Consulting Engineers, P.A. This position will challenge you as you learn more about all that is involved with waterfront projects.
AMI is seeking a full-time Waterfront Engineer, with 2+ years’ experience, to join our Team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for assessments, proposals, design, and planning/execution of waterfront designs on a wide range of projects including marinas, shorelines, developments, dredging, bioengineering, rehabilitation, and restoration.
The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have excellent follow-through while taking ownership in each project assigned. Travel and fieldwork will be required to complete projects. The successful candidate must serve the engineering needs of clients by providing excellent client service. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited university
- 2+ years of waterfront engineering or similar experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 2 years
- Ability to delegate tasks to ensure milestones are met
- Ability to travel and work remotely for short periods of time
- Knowledgeable in the design of waterfront elements and systems
- Working knowledge of hydraulic processes
- Working knowledge of environmental concerns and considerations
- Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter that is deadline driven and accountable
- Enjoys an ever changing, fast paced work environment
- Has an internal locus of control
- Self-starter that is deadline driven
- Demonstrated ability to produce construction documents
- Ability to conduct field work independently
Additional Qualifications Desired (Not Required):
- Construction administration experience
- Ability to mentor junior staff
- Numerical modeling experience
