The pay range is $69,000.00 - $124,200.00Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. Find competitive benefits from financial and education to well-being and beyond at .Senior Production Engineer PSQAPRIMARY FUNCTIONEnsure vendors and factories produce safe and quality product for Target owned brandsDeep knowledge of consumer product manufacturing quality oversight, compliance, & regulatory requirementsResponsible for proactive and preventive quality assurance and control, delivering end to end result through QMS activitiesEngage with factories in-person and remotely to assess performance and provide support to drive for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.Actively influence decision-making and address business needs through active engagement with internal business partners.Leverage analysis and reporting on vendors & factories performance with a feedback loop.Actively influence decision-making and address business needs through active engagement with CFT/businessConduct calibration activities on process and product for 3rd parties, vendors and factoriesPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESKey Competency ExpectationProduct and Technical knowledgeCategory level product knowledge; understand the guest expectation/brand expression through product standards, specification, approved samples and testing requirement/protocols to support field operationsEnsure Target products are good & healthy, safe to use, guest friendly and durable & functional through product lifecycleKnowledge of product and manufacturing process risk assessment and mitigation to support product development - Identify and validate key quality and capability callouts (e.g., manufacturing variability, critical to quality, manufacturability to scale) from product development stage through a robust MCPDeep understanding of capacity analysis – to ensure appropriate capacities are allocated, both holistically and at a program levelAbility to understand diverse and ever evolving manufacturing processesUnderstand process management - able to determine the critical processes to quality and its controls to prevent or mitigate potential issues/risksKnowledge of tools from Lean/6 Sigma/TOC/SPC to assess factory's performance to support OBSD strategyTechnical ability to assess and resolve product and inspection issuesUnderstanding of cost engineering to support factory’s drive towards efficiency and right first time qualityQuality Strategy and ManagementUnderstand and be able to assess the effectiveness of a factory’s preventive QMS and its sustainability, across diverse manufacturing processesDrive continuous improvement of a factory’s quality management system, shifting focus from detection to prevention.Plan for quality through preventive product risk mitigation, factory capability assessment and capacity validation prior to production.Strategic overview of the factory’s performance in order to prioritize and identify areas of opportunity to drive elevationUnderstand the guest expectation through voice of the guestData/Reporting and Analytical thinkingAbility to review data and conduct statistical analysisLeverage data to identify opportunities for calibration, continuous improvement and problem-solvingUnderstand industry and share business intelligence with CFT teams when neededEngage in proactive sourcing and category management from technical, quality and engineering perspective to drive robust business placement decisionsExtensive use of quantifiable data and KPIs in decision-making; championing ethics for Target and supply chainSupport HQ through product investigations and activate on guest data analysis appropriately.Investigate quality issues, ensure effectiveness of CAPA and validate vendor/factories are driving toward continuous improvement.JOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor degree in engineeringMinimum 5-8 years’ experience in industryTechnical disciplines equivalent in retail compliance/manufacturingQuality management, raw material, product, and manufacturing industry experience/knowledgeBackground in quality and technical/engineeringKnowledge of quality tools RCA/Fishbone/Lean/Six Sigma/Industrial Engineering Experienced in line setupGood communication skills and strong interpersonal skillsCollaborative focus and ability to work successfully across functional areasAbility to drive/fly to factories 3-4 days a week with overnight travel up to 40% of the timeClose proximity to a major airportPosition requires a current and valid driver licenseDESIRED REQUIREMENTS:MultilingualExperience in retail purchasing operations or support (Sourcing, procurement, QA, development, etc.)Certified Quality EngineerISO 9001 certificationSix Sigma or Lean certifiedTeam Members in the Target General Merch Inc (TGMI) operating company are strictly prohibited from working more than 30 days per year in the following 16 states: AL, AR, DE, FL, IN , IA, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN and VA.
