Overview:
The right person is someone that has a mix of sys admin, network, and application sensibilities. You have done hands-on admin/engineering work in the past and have moved on to specialize within network and systems security, to identify vulnerabilities and look for ways to improve IT security systems.
You will have the chance to provide expertise in designing, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining new and existing IT security systems. This highly collaborative position involves working closely with vendors, end-users, and teams across the organization to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities relevant to our client's environment.
The most qualified candidates will bring most of the following to the role:
- 7+ years of overall IT Systems expertise, with at least 3 focused on cybersecurity
- Professional expertise at a mid/sr. level using PowerShell, SQL, and/or automation scripting tools and languages with an eye on operational efficiency
- Sr. level expertise of the OSI model as it pertains to troubleshooting and system architecture
- Participate as a 24/7 IT Incident Response Team member by responding to threats and security risks to the organization during office and after-hours as part of an on-call rotation. This includes collaborating with teams/individuals to formulate and apply remediation action
- Monitor networks and systems for security events and alerts to potential/active threats, intrusions, and indicators of compromise; Analyze trends to determine the downstream impact
- Maintain and audit all logs and records associated with operational procedures; Audit security logs, reports, daily system audits, security logs, and authentication features to ensure security-relevant actions are appropriately implemented and executed
- Assist in after-action activity reviews; Identify findings associated with an incident
- Solid (mid-level+) experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, as well as basic virtualization skills (VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V administration)
- Foundational Windows Sys admin skills with Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and Microsoft Windows Services
- Proven background in design, build, and support of a hybrid IT environment, including physical/virtual servers, storage, networking, applications, monitoring, security, and cloud services
- Design, deploy, and administer LAN/WAN networks, including firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, and wireless solutions
