JOB DESCRIPTION
Title Application Engineer
\ Application Engineers are integral members of the Project Deployment Team. They report directly to the Program Manager – North America. This role is a hands-on, individual contributor position with a strong technical focus.
Main task
Application Engineer
- The primary technical resource for the dynamic line rating application and fault current application to power transmission and distribution systems.
- The project manager for all customer projects deployments.
Responsibilities primary
In charge of Project Deployment from A to Z: defining the solution, communication with customers, planning, financial, etc.
Prepare power transmission customer-specific proposals in response to RFI/RFP, and work through the sales cycles, interfacing with the customers during the technical evaluation process.
Maintain expert level of product knowledge, its application in power transmission & distribution systems.
Coordinate the customer project internally with other departments involved (sales, R&D, production, administrative team).
Liaise with HQ senior technical teams, to ensure smooth project deployments and remain current on latest product releases and features.
Act as the technical project manager during the entire course of customers projects, and perform project duties including, line analysis, commissioning of sensors, deployment of software, and integration of solution into customer EMS/SCADA.
Perform product training for customers, salespeople, and engineers.
Provide technical support and expertise to customers, testing applications, responding to customer feedback, installations, maintenance and often performing sales presentations and demonstrations.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.
Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, and training services.
Maintain expert level of knowledge in communications technology, and industry protocols for integration of data into transmission EMS/SCADA.
Skills & Qualifications
Specific skills
Knowledge and, or proven experience in customer interfacing roles in a technical environment
Knowledge and experience in project management
Able to juggle highly operational tasks, customers meetings, and multiple project management, able to work on several projects with different timelines at the same time
Knowledge and, or proven experience in communication technology and its applications in power system
Knowledge and, or proven experience in industry protocols to integrate data into EMS/SCADA

Fluent English (working language), French and/or Spanish is a plus

Qualifications required
BS or MS in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanic or Software/Computer Engineering, or equivalent successful experience in a similar controls industry role
Experience required
Experience 5–7 Years in Engineering, Project Engineering, Application Engineering, Project Deployment in a technological environment, or in companies selling complex technical solutions
