User Experience Designer

Job Title: UX Designer

Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid Job)

Duration: 12 months contract

Candidate must be willing to work on-site at least 2 days a week.

Summary:

As a UX Designer, you will be responsible for conducting user research, translating user pain points and needs into usable and accessible user interfaces on a low-code/no-code platform. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand user goals and pain points, creating wireframes and prototypes of design solutions, communicating design decisions to stakeholders, and ensuring users find the applications usable and accessible. Experience in and a strong understanding of user experience principles are essential for success in this role. Additionally, you will contribute to the success of the application to enhance overall user satisfaction and meet strict accessibility standards.

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in design, human-centered design, or a related field
2. 5 years proven experience as a UX designer, user researcher, or equivalent role
3. Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects and a deep understanding of design principles and methodologies
4. Proficiency with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
6. Experience with user research methods and usability testing
7. Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into effective design solutions that meet user needs
8. Familiarity with low-code/no-code development platforms
9. Understanding of accessible design and Section 508, WCAG guidelines, and accessibility tools like ANDI and JAWS
10. Experience and understanding of federal government projects a plus
