The Opportunity
DAT is looking for a Engineering Manager - UX Web Frameworks/Platform to join our team working hybrid in Denver, Colorado; or remote Seattle, Washington.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our UX Web Frameworks/Platform team. In this role, you will oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of frameworks and platforms that empower our UX teams to build scalable, high-performance web applications. You will collaborate closely with product management, design, and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of innovative and user-centric solutions, driving consistency and efficiency across web experiences.
What You'll Do
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance on technical challenges, career development, and best practices.
- Technical Oversight: Lead the architecture, development, and scaling of UX web frameworks and platforms. Ensure high code quality, performance, security, and reusability across projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, UX designers, and other engineering teams to define and implement solutions that align with product goals and enhance the end-user experience.
- Platform Strategy & Innovation: Drive the long-term strategy for the UX platform, identifying opportunities to integrate new technologies and improve developer efficiency. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Project Management: Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery of key features. Coordinate with stakeholders to set priorities and ensure successful implementation of engineering solutions.
- Quality & Performance: Advocate for continuous integration, testing, and deployment practices to maintain platform stability and scalability. Drive performance improvements and monitor system health in production.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical liaison for your team, providing regular updates to leadership, facilitating discussions on challenges and solutions, and ensuring alignment across departments.
The Skills and Experience You'll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in web development, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or management role. Prior experience with UX or front-end engineering frameworks is preferred.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of modern web technologies, such as JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Familiarity with platform architectures, microservices, and API-driven development.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and grow a high-performing engineering team. Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Agility: Comfortable working in an agile environment with iterative processes and frequent releases.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with developer tools, platforms, or libraries that support UX teams.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience with performance optimization, A/B testing, and accessibility best practices.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $155,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience.
