Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for highly motivated civil construction professionals to join our team as a Project/Field Engineer in Denver, CO ( DIA).Duties:Develop, monitor and update integrated project plans and schedules so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.Assist Project Manager, Quality Control Manager & Superintendents with entry level engineering tasks, material take-offs, work plans, submittals, estimates, etc…Prepare baseline scheduling. schedule basis documents for approval by project teamsAssess impacts to critical path and near-critical activities, report to project teamMonitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing alternate methods for corrective actionPrepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basisAssure credibility of the information contained in the scheduleReview schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate timely data is incorporated in the scheduleVerify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float pathsEvaluate activity sequences for constructabilityAnalyze change orders for schedule impactsResource load schedules as required by the project teamPerform job-site walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activitiesPosition will require traveling to jobsites.Project submittalsRFI's drafting subcontracts, purchase orders and negotiating contract pricing to come in under budgetSchedules on Microsoft project or PrimaveraBudgeting and cost projectionsLarge amounts of word processing, letters/correspondence to owners and engineersAttending progress meetingsReading and interpreting plans and specificationsAbility to communicate verbally and electronically in an educated and professional manner with owners and engineersAbility to work in office but also spend time in field, understand what is being builtAbility to manage and schedule deliveries from suppliersAbility to schedule and coordinate subcontractorsField, not limited to;Daily installation quantity record keepingDaily start and stop station recording for record drawingsEquipment hour trackingMeeting with subcontractors and suppliers on siteAttending any necessary field meetings Progress photosQualifications:Construction/related degree with 3 to 5 years construction scheduling experienceExcellent computer skills and analytical abilityExperience working with Primavera P6, Procure.Understanding of industrial construction processMust have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawingsKnowledge of contract procedures and principlesAbility to communicate effectively and work in a team environmentAbility to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projectsPay: $75k-$85kEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.For more than 120 years, hard-working, honest, innovative people have been building what has become SOUTHLAND HOLDINGS.
