About the Team
The Trust and Safety (TnS) platform team is responsible for protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. With the continuous efforts of our trust and safety platform team, TikTok can provide the best user experience and bring joy to everyone in the world.
We are building an engineering team dedicated to Trust and Safety's Risk and Response business. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams (XFN) that include Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Scientists, and QAs, to establish public trust through providing solutions to support risk and response business, especially escalation handling.

Responsibilities

1. Build highly scalable, efficient and robust trust and safety platforms and tools.
2. Understand product objectives to develop web-based application pages optimised for scalability, reliability and responsiveness and to deliver compelling end user experience.
3. Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
4. Collaborate with trust and safety specialists, experts, backend and machine learning engineers.
5. Keep at the forefront of emerging web-based technologies and trends, research and evaluate the latest web development frameworks, apply new technologies to drive iterative product improvements.

Qualifications
Requirements

1. B. Sc or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields from accredited and reputable institutions.
2. 3+ years experience in developing frontend/fullstack web applications, with demonstrable expertise in deep optimisation of end user experience, stability & scalability, code modularity and rendering latency.
3. Strong JavaScript/HTML/CSS frontend engineering experience and strong familiarity with key concepts including asynchronous programming, closures and types, layouts, specificity, animation, cross browser compatibility and accessibility.
4. Proficiency in designing data structures, building algorithms, and at least one programming language: python/go/php/c++/java.
5. Good understanding of frontend - backend multi-tier application architecture and protocols, familiarity with product and software development lifecycle process.

Preferred

1. Deep understanding of the underlying design philosophy and implementation of common web libraries and frameworks, including React/Vue/Angular.
2. Deep familiarity and experience with common web compilation and bundling frameworks, including Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp.
3. Experience in trust and safety or risk control system design and implementation.
4. Experience in development of no-code/low-code platforms is highly advantageous.

Job Information:
Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $137750 - $237500 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
