Instrument and Controls Engineer:

Are you a problem solver with great communication skills? Are you looking to build a career as an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with a leading innovator of Turbo Expander technology? In this role, you will be a key member of a small team of engineers that create custom engineered solutions that are critical in the production of green energy and other applications. You will be required to handle multiple projects in different stages as they make their way through the design and manufacturing process.

Compensation:

The compensation (range) for this position is $90,854 to $128,377 annually depending on skill. Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC pays based on skills and not job seniority. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. About the Team:

This role reports to the Systems Engineer Manager and will work and collaborate as an integral part of a tight-knit engineering team. Other team members include Project Manager, Project Engineering and Mechanical Engineer and Systems Engineer. You will also coordinate tasks to be completed at our remote office in India.

What you will own & improve:

  1. Engineering Design: You will be the sole Instrument and Controls Engineer on a custom designed turbo expander package. Review and interpret customer specifications to create manufacturing drawings, material lists and other documentation for the customer. You will also test the control panels and other electrical sub systems that you designed.
  2. Technical Discussions: You will lead technical discussions with the customer and suppliers to find solutions to the project's requirements.
  3. Continuous Improvement: You will create ways to improve engineering process by reducing design cycle time and/or reduce errors while keeping manufacturability in mind.

What you already know:

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or similar engineering field or equivalent skill set and work experience.
  2. Knowledge of PLC and HMI software (Allen Bradley and Siemens)
  3. Understand properties of fluid control systems as they apply to lube oil and seal gas systems.
  4. Electrical Industry standards (NEC, CSA, IEC)
  5. Strong computer skills with Microsoft office and AutoCAD.
  6. Worked with PLM and ERP systems (Enovia and SAP)
  7. Ability to maintain documentation for design calculations and component selection.

  1. SCRUM process to accomplish tasks within a team.
  2. Stay up to date on the latest components used in control systems.
  3. Perform factory acceptance tests on control panels in front of inspectors and customers.
