At Jacobs, you’ll be a vital member of our Northern CA team and will have the opportunity to support engineers on structural and highway design plans for transportation projects, as well as site civil projects in the water or wastewater field.At Jacobs Redding or Sacramento Office, you will have the opportunity to work on world class transportation projects. Initial duties for the entry level position will include, but are not limited to, geometric design of roadways including design of horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation design, grading, drainage (hydrology and hydraulics), signing, striping, erosion control, maintenance of traffic during construction, quantity take-offs, and design review. You will work closely with our talented project teams through all phases of plan production as we carry projects from concept design to bid ready documents. As a Entry Level Highway CAD Designer, you’ll work collaboratively on multi-discipline projects with other technicians and engineers in the roadway and structural groups. You’ll apply your CAD software skills and knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices and techniques to develop design plans. Construction phase work assignments may include preparing sketches and reviewing shop drawings.
