Anduril’s Flight Engineering department is seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer for our Flight Software team.

The Anduril Flight Engineering team is integral to development of flight system solutions in all domains for our warfighters. As a critical member of our team, the role of a Lead Embedded Software Engineer is pivotal in driving the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge flight system technologies for our aerospace systems. Anduril fosters a dynamic learning culture, characterized by accelerated knowledge acquisition through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous and frequent ground and flight test experimentation. At Anduril, you will be involved in flight testing the systems you develop.

The Flight Software team at Anduril develops flight computer vehicle software for all airborne and subsea vehicles. The team is responsible for developing the microcontroller embedded software that powers Anduril’s vehicles while working alongside a team of engineers with a diverse set of backgrounds and skills. WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead high-impact projects through requirements analysis, design, and execution
  • Provide technical leadership across a group of about 10-15 Flight Software Engineers
  • Develop microcontroller software using RTOS
  • Develop device drivers, protocols, and APIs for aircraft sensors
  • Integrate new features and sensors into flight controller software
  • Create SITL/HITL test fixtures
  • Analyze flight test results
  • Gain a working understanding of Anduril’s business lines and collaborate with leaders to build cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users
  • Communicate effectively to plan, execute, and deliver results across multiple teams and functions
  • Be an advocate for excellent engineering culture across the team
  • Mentor and coach engineers on the team to help them achieve their results and grow their careers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7 or more years of experience in Embedded Software or related technical experience
  • Direct experience with DO-178 standards or similar design assurance standards and processes
  • Direct experience in aircraft embedded software or other safety critical systems
  • Background in low-level embedded software architecture, design, and development
  • Low-level device driver development, experience with microcontrollers and application processors
  • Comfortable with typical embedded systems tools, compilers, debuggers and IDEs
  • Familiarity with communications busses and protocols such as CAN, CANFD, ARINC-825, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI, QSPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc.
  • Strong debugging skills through use of instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
  • Familiarity with revision control systems
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance

US SALARY RANGE USD $154,000 - $231,000 + RSUs

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
