Departmental Overview

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) is the largest academic department on the Berkeley campus, consisting of over 130 faculty, 3600+ undergraduates, 750+ graduate students, and 60+ staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Under general supervision provides advice and guidance on documented faculty or other academic staff compensation programs, academic personnel policies and procedures.
  2. Supports faculty search committees, ensuring compliance with the Office of Faculty Equity and Welfare (OFEW) search requirements.
  3. Determines and assembles materials/data for academic review cases, maintaining accurate tracking records.
  4. Manages course evaluations; assesses and summarizes data and comments from teaching evaluations.
  5. Initiates academic personnel UCPATH actions including merit, appointment, and template transactions.
  6. Supports ASE hiring for CS courses.
  7. Manages and plans exam printing and course support, including coordination of scanning scheduling and machine maintenance.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of and ability to apply / interpret organization and college policies and procedures which govern academic HR.
  • Knowledge of human resources management systems and other related business software programs and systems.
  • Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations.
  • Demonstrated organization, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Salary & Benefits

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is 31.94 - 43.87.
