Jr. DevOps Engineer

Contract: 6 month contract-to-hire

Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour contract

Job Description: Jr. DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and grow in the field of DevOps, with a foundational understanding of network automation, automation tools, and scripting languages. This role is perfect for individuals looking to kick-start their career in DevOps and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the design and implementation of network automation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
2. Utilize Ansible and/or Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
3. Write and maintain Python scripts and other scripting languages to support automation tasks and process improvements.
4. Collaborate with senior team members to deploy and manage applications in Linux environments, primarily Red Hat and Ubuntu.
5. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to DevOps processes and infrastructure.
6. Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes, contributing to the seamless deployment of applications.
7. Document processes, workflows, and system configurations to enhance team knowledge and operational efficiency.
8. Stay updated with emerging DevOps trends, practices, and tools to continuously improve skills and contribute to team initiatives.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Basic understanding of network automation concepts and practices.
3. Familiarity with Ansible and/or Terraform is a plus; eagerness to learn these tools is essential.
4. Proficiency in Python or another scripting language (e.g., Bash, Perl).
5. Experience with Linux operating systems, specifically Red Hat and Ubuntu.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
