Manager of Software Engineering (Java)

firstPRO inc. is looking for a Manager of Software Engineering for our client in Wyomissing, PA.

This is a full time direct hire opportunity. US citizens and green card holders only.

Hybrid Schedule - 2 days on site.

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager with a strong Java background to lead and inspire our development team. In this role, you will guide the team in delivering high-quality software solutions and drive the overall engineering vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Oversee the software development process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of projects.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals.
• Promote Agile methodologies within the team, enhancing productivity and teamwork.
• Facilitate the evaluation and implementation of software solutions that meet organizational needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience with a focus on Java technologies.
• 3+ years of experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to motivate teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with both onshore and offshore teams is a plus.
