We have an excellent opportunity for a mid/senior Environmental Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to support a wide range of projects within the Great Lakes region.
What you will do:
The mid/senior Environmental Engineer will assume a key role as an engineer/designer for stream and ecosystem restoration design, wetland restoration, and other water resources projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ecosystem restoration design, living shoreline design, and climate adaptation planning.
- The assessment of vulnerabilities associated with fluctuating water levels, storm events, ecological response to climate change, and a thorough understanding of hydrology and hydraulics in support of design activities.
- Support business development activities including maintaining schedules, tracking of opportunities, proposal, and presentation support, and providing general support for business development.
Clientele will be wide-ranging including US EPA, Department of Defense entities, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, ports, non-profits, state, local and commercial entities.
What you will need:
- B.S. degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer registration (Great Lakes states preferred)
- 10 years + experience in Civil Engineering consulting at increasing levels of responsibility
- Outstanding project management and leadership skills.
- Strong writing skills are a must.
- Proven track record of design and permitting within an interdisciplinary team related to stormwater, green infrastructure, wetlands, stream restoration and surface water drainage systems in general preferred.
- Must be able to operate latest Civil Engineering software/design tools for system modeling, design calculation, analysis, interpretation and drafting software.
- The location of position will be in close proximity to an EA office in Deerfield, IL or Brighton, MI preferred.
Anticipated salary range: $100,000 to $130,000 per year.
