Overview:

Based in Northern Virginia, Softtek Government Solutions has an opportunity for you to become part of our team that delivers innovative solutions to key federal clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support the design, development, administration, and support of databases for our federal government client. This position will be located within the National Capital Region (NCR).

This senior role will lead the work of developing and administering databases including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. Must be able to configure and support high availability, multi-site, disaster recovery and backup solutions.

Key Duties include:

• Configure and develop solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI analytics solutions.
• Development and maintenance of stored procedures, tables, views, functions, and queries.
• Solving database and SQL performance issues.
• Provide leadership in problem determination/analysis and isolate system problems utilizing diagnostic and system management tools (i.e. system dumps and component traces, monitoring tools, problem databases).
• Maintain security hardened baseline configurations and deploy new software releases and patches.
• Lead engineering, integration, implementation, and operation of a virtualization strategy to include Database server consolidation, storage consolidation, and automation.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all procedures, infrastructure diagrams, system configuration and baseline standards, implementation plans, system back out plans, system recovery plans, maintenance plans, system upgrades, and all system changes.
• Lead management and resolution of all warning, alerts, and incidents. Design automated responses to system issues (e.g., automatic failover, resource allocation adjustments).

Required Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle Database Server.
• 1+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft Power BI.
• US Citizenship.

Required Clearance:

• Active Top-Secret Clearance / SCI eligible.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with MariaDB / mySQL.
• Experience in Consulting industry or federal government.
