Designation Head

Profile Summary To lead operations of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation department and provide critical inputs to Projects and Sales teams pertaining to costing, design, and execution of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation system/components and matters.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Drive strategy and direction setting process for the Department in line with organizational goals.
  2. Develop and drive short-term and long-term plans for the department as well as for development of automation system for new machineries.
  3. Define the design and engineering standards for the department which are in line with good practices and market aligned.
  4. Explore strategic alliances for Automation technologies and Programming capabilities for the organization.
  5. Drive the budget formulation process for the Department and related activities.
  6. Review, collate and prepare the annual manpower plan and budget for the organization and monitor adherence to the same.
  7. Review the key performance metrics / MIS of the department on a periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary.
  8. Review and provide technical inputs pertaining to electrical, instrumentation, and automation aspects to drive improved cost efficiencies for new project proposals and during execution.
  9. Ensure timely invoicing to customers and collection of receivables.
  10. Review and approve final estimated costing of the EIA components in line with PID, Plant Layout, Automation architecture, Instruments required, Cabling layout, and other factors.
  11. Review and approve final design of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Automation (EIA) during project execution after final approval of PID, layout, and Feeder list.
  12. Ensure proper documentation pertaining to design, processes, and tests conducted related to EIA during execution (Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test), Change Requests, User Manuals, etc.
  13. Oversee activities around Panel Manufacturing and Production for Projects and Skids.
  14. Ensure internal capability building in the areas of Programming so that IDMC has minimum reliance on external vendors for the same and costs could be optimized.
  15. Timely completion and handover of projects including providing operation and maintenance manuals, providing training to customer staff on operation and maintenance.
  16. Prepare the annual manpower plan for the department in consultation with Head HR.
  17. Work with Head HR to ensure the department is adequately staffed as per the manpower requirements and project needs.
  18. Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to team members; drive a culture of performance amongst subordinates – set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback on performance to ensure a motivated and committed team.
  19. Ensure appropriate training and capability building of employees in the department.
  20. Mentor and groom high-potential employees to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department.

Qualification & Experience BE / B.Tech. Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics with 15-20 years -OR- Diploma Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics with 20-25 years.

Other Essential Attributes and Skills MS-office, SAP. Programming knowledge will be an added advantage.
