Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud engineer who has expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, security, operational processes, and advanced industry knowledge are essential to keep us on the cutting edge. The cloud engineer will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations and an ongoing impact on growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide implementation and experience during all cloud adoption activities.
2. At the direction of lead architects, develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy GCP applications.
3. Evaluate and implement orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with the highest level of accuracy and reduced defects.
4. Setup and maintain monitoring, metrics & reporting systems for fine-grained observability and actionable alerting.
5. Collaborate on a cloud governance model and maintain it. This includes configuration, IAM, and cost management.
6. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
7. Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary.
8. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Three or more years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on GCP.
3. Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject-matter experts.
4. Experience in the design, implementation and/or support of highly distributed applications demonstrating strong architectural skills to ensure availability, reliability, etc.
5. Familiar with lift-and-shift migrations and migration methodologies for cloud migration.
