Job Title: Project Engineer - Capital Improvement Projects
Location: Portage, Indiana
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing capital improvement projects within the industrial manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems (hydraulics), project management, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage capital improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Design and Engineering: Develop and review mechanical designs, specifications, and drawings for new equipment and systems.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors and contractors to procure materials and services, ensuring compliance with project specifications and timelines.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, maintenance, and other departments to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and change orders.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Skills:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software and other engineering tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards and OSHA safety regulations.
