Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Metallurgical Engineer for our Materials & Corrosion Engineering Practice in Menlo Park, CA . In this role, you will work as part of a team to conduct materials, metallurgical, and mechanical failure investigations, field inspections, and perform materials characterization and specialized testing.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting hands-on failure analyses
- Materials characterization, metallurgical analysis
- Planning, coordinating, and executing laboratory testing
- Conducting field inspections
- Effective presentation of results to technical and non-technical clients and staff
You will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and a familiarity with Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in materials characterization techniques (e.g., metallography, SEM, EDS, FIB, and/or X-ray radiography/diffraction, etc.) is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute to the team
- Knowledge of failure analysis desired
